HP has introduced a range of refurbished laptops in India aimed at students, small businesses, startups, and freelancers. The initiative is designed to provide affordable HP computing solutions through a trusted HP partner to both individuals and businesses.
HP has chosen India as the starting point for its refurbished laptop programme. They plan to take this program to other regions in 2024. In India, businesses can join the program on a subscription basis, allowing them to use updated technology for 6, 12, or 24 months. Now, HP is extending this program to regular customers and small businesses, offering them refurbished PCs on a pay-as-you-go model.
Initially, the focus of the program is on refurbishing notebooks. HP's approved partner will collect devices from businesses and individuals, refurbish them according to HP's guidelines, and then sell them. Customers will also receive support and a warranty after the purchase.
This refurbishment program builds on HP's past projects, where around 20,000 devices were reused annually for their own employees. HP aims to achieve 75 percent circularity for its products and packaging by 2030, meaning a large portion of their products will be reused or recycled.
Alongside, HP has launched the HP Pavilion Plus 14 and HP Pavilion Plus 16 models in India. The HP Pavilion Plus 14 comes with either a 13th Gen Intel i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 processor and has an IMAX-certified display. On the other hand, the HP Pavilion Plus 16 is available only with an Intel processor and features discrete Nvidia graphics. These new models also have AI-enhanced features for video calls, matching the current trend in 2023.
The HP refurbished laptop programme in India is a big step towards providing cost-effective computing solutions. The HP refurbished laptops for students in India part of the program is expected to help in promoting digital inclusion and supporting the growing entrepreneurial environment in the country.
The HP subscription program is a key part of the refurbished laptop initiative. It offers a flexible way for businesses to keep up with the latest technology without a large initial investment. This program, along with the HP refurbished notebooks sale, shows HP’s dedication to promoting a circular economy in the tech sector, ensuring that products are reused or recycled, aligning with their sustainability goals.
