Fresh off the recent release of the iPhone 15 series, Apple enthusiasts are already buzzing with excitement as rumours about the next iteration, the iPhone 16 series, start to circulate.

According to renowned Apple supply chain analyst Jeff Pu, significant changes are in store for the upcoming models, starting with the introduction of the advanced A18 chipset.

In this article, we delve into the leaked details surrounding the iPhone 16 series and examine the potential impact of these new chipsets.

Leaked Details and Chipset Changes

Jeff Pu, known for his accurate Apple leaks, recently shared his research note with Haitong International Securities, shedding light on the anticipated changes in the iPhone 16 lineup.

Pu's predictions indicate that all models in the series will come equipped with the latest A18 chipset, marking a departure from previous iterations that used older chipsets for the baseline models.

Enhanced Performance and Efficiency

The A18 Bionic processor, expected to power the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, promises to bring significant upgrades in performance and efficiency.

Additionally, the Pro models, namely the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, are set to feature the A18 Pro SoC.

This chipset transition not only represents a move away from the Bionic nomenclature used in recent years but also suggests an exponential leap in processing power and capabilities.

Advanced Manufacturing Process

Intriguingly, the A18 chipset will be manufactured using the 2nd gen 3nm chipset process, known as N3E, developed by TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company).

This cutting-edge process is expected to offer improved affordability and efficiency compared to the first-generation N3B 3nm process utilised in the iPhone 15 Pro models.

The use of this advanced chipset manufacturing process signals Apple's commitment to delivering state-of-the-art technology to its customers.

Uncertainty and Potential Changes

While the leaked information provides an exciting glimpse into the future of Apple's flagship smartphone lineup, it's important to note that the iPhone 16 series is still a year away from release.

As with any upcoming technology, there is always the possibility of modifications and alterations along the development timeline.

Apple's dedication to innovation may warrant adjustments in the chipset choices or additional feature enhancements before the official launch.
