As Apple's biggest event of the year approaches, anticipation and rumours surrounding the iPhone 15 continue to circulate.

iPhone 15 India Release Date

Historically, users in countries like the US, Europe, and the UK have had immediate access to the latest iPhones upon their global release, while customers in India have faced a delay of about a month.

However, recent reports suggest that this may change with the upcoming iPhone 15 launch.

According to a statement from insider sources cited in a report by Economic Times, Apple is planning to unveil the iPhone 15 in India much sooner this year.

The tech giant aims to significantly narrow the gap between the Indian launch and the global release, potentially revealing the new model simultaneously or with just a few days' difference.

Insiders also revealed that preparations for mass production of the iPhone 15 are well underway.

A previous Bloomberg report mentioned that production had already begun in Tamil Nadu, India, with the Foxconn Technology Group's plant in Sriperumbudur gearing up to manufacture the new series of iPhones.

Other suppliers in India, such as the Pegatron Corp. and a Wistron Corp. factory that is being acquired by the Tata Group, are also expected to commence production of the iPhone 15 soon.

This increased manufacturing volume will contribute to making the iPhone 15 more readily available in India.

iPhone 15: Features and Upgrades to Expect

The iPhone 15, set to be officially unveiled on September 12 at 10:30 pm IST during Apple's launch event, is expected to come with a range of exciting features and improvements.

Alongside the new iPhone models, Apple might also introduce the Apple Watch Series 9 and potentially an updated edition of the Apple Watch Ultra, as well as a new device featuring an M3 processor.

Rumored to feature the Dynamic Island Notch design, the iPhone 15 is likely to adopt a more immersive display experience.

Currently, this design is exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro models, so its inclusion in all variants of the iPhone 15 is a significant upgrade. Another first for Apple could be the addition of USB Type C charging support in the new iPhones.

Camera enthusiasts will be pleased to hear that significant upgrades are expected in the camera department. Reports suggest that both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models could sport an upgraded 48-megapixel primary camera sensor, resulting in improved low-light performance.

This marks a noteworthy leap from the 12-megapixel dual camera system found in the iPhone 14, promising better photography capabilities and enhanced image quality.

The iPhone 15 is rumoured to be powered by the highly anticipated A17 Bionic chipset, which promises a substantial performance improvement over its predecessor, the A16 Bionic featured in the iPhone 14.
