Apple has introduced the Apple iMac M3, a new 24-inch iMac with M3 chip, at its Scary Fast event. This model is an upgrade from the previous iMac that had the M1 chip. The design remains the same as the 2021 model, but with better internals. The iMac M3 model now has an 8-core CPU and up to a 10-core GPU, promising to deliver double the performance of the M1 iMac, while also being more efficient.
The price for the new 24-inch iMac with M3 chip starts at Rs. 1,34,900. This base model includes an 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 8GB of memory, a 256GB SSD storage, and two Thunderbolt ports. Apple also bundles the Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse with this iMac. It comes in four colors: green, pink, blue, and silver.
There's another variant with a 10-core GPU, priced at Rs. 1,54,900, or Rs. 1,44,900 for the education sector. It has the same base configuration but comes with a Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and is available in seven colors: blue, green, orange, pink, purple, silver, and yellow.

The new 24-inch iMac with M3 chip looks the same as the older model but it comes with some serious performance upgrades. The M3 chip, with its 8-core CPU and up to 10-core GPU, is said to be twice as fast as the M1 chip. This new chip is based on the Apple iPhone 15 Pro's A17 Pro chip technology.
The new M3 chip is made using a 3nm process which makes it more efficient than the M1 chip. In terms of graphics, the chip supports hardware-accelerating mesh shading and ray tracing on the iMac, making the better graphics capability a reality. There's also a 16-core Neural Engine that speeds up machine learning tasks.
The new 24-inch iMac with M3 chip comes with a 24-inch Retina Display that has a 4.5K resolution and 500 nits of peak brightness, offering a brighter display and a wider color gamut. For connectivity, it includes Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, up to four USB Type-C ports, two Thunderbolt ports, and Gigabit Ethernet support.
Additionally, there’s a 1080p webcam for clear video calls, and a six-speaker setup that supports Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos. It runs on the new macOS Sonoma right out of the box, adding to the user-friendly experience.
