Apple is set to introduce new health features in the upcoming Apple Watch Series 10, which is expected to be released in 2024.

The company is planning to add blood pressure monitoring and sleep apnea detection to its next-generation smartwatch, making it a more useful tool for monitoring health.

Additionally, there might be a design upgrade which would make the new watch look as smart as it works.

Blood Pressure Monitoring

The new Apple Watch is said to come with advanced blood pressure sensor technology that can help detect hypertension.

This feature aims to alert users if their blood pressure is trending upward over time, providing an early warning system for potential health issues.

It also includes a journal feature that can help identify possible causes for any unusual blood pressure readings.

To ensure accuracy and to prevent any misdiagnosis, users will be advised to consult a doctor or to cross-verify the readings with a traditional cuff if they notice any anomalies.

Sleep Apnea Detection Feature

Moving on to the sleep apnea detection feature, the Apple Watch Series 10 aims to help diagnose sleep apnea by analyzing users' sleep and breathing patterns during the night.

This feature is designed to provide insights into any irregular breathing patterns that might occur while the user is asleep, thereby helping in early detection and management of sleep apnea.

Blood Glucose Monitoring Technology

Apple is also exploring blood glucose monitoring technology which might be introduced in future models of the Apple Watch.

This non-invasive blood glucose monitoring technology is expected to use a silicon photonics chip to shine a light under the skin to determine the glucose concentration in the body.

The idea is to provide a hassle-free way for users to monitor their glucose levels, similar to how they would monitor their blood pressure.

The system would alert users if their glucose level is trending in an undesirable direction, prompting them to consult a doctor. However, it's worth noting that this glucose monitoring feature might not be ready by 2024 for the Apple Watch Series 10.

These new features underline Apple's commitment to enhancing the health monitoring capabilities of its smartwatches.

By providing users with more tools to monitor their health in a convenient and non-invasive manner, Apple is taking a significant step towards promoting better health awareness and management among its user base.
