In January 2024, the tech world is set to witness a major event from Samsung - the launch of the Galaxy S24 series at the Galaxy Unpacked event.
This new lineup, succeeding the Galaxy S23 series introduced to global markets earlier this year, is likely to feature three models: the base Galaxy S24, the enhanced Galaxy S24+, and the flagship Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Renowned tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks) recently provided a sneak peek into the specifications of these anticipated models.
Although his original post was subsequently removed, 9to5Google managed to capture these details, offering the public a preview of what Samsung has in store.
At the heart of the series is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, promising superior performance.
Each model is designed to withstand the elements, boasting an IP68 dust and water resistance rating. The Galaxy S24 and S24+ will come with durable Aluminium Armor 2.0 bodies, while the Ultra variant is expected to sport a robust Titanium frame.
Adding to this, all models in the series will support 8K video recording, catering to the modern demand for high-quality visual content.
The display technology in the S24 series is nothing short of impressive.
The base S24 model features a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X full-HD+ panel, while the S24+ and Ultra models boast larger 6.7-inch and 6.8-inch screens with quad-HD+ resolution, all supporting a peak brightness of 2,600 nits.
In terms of battery life, the devices range from a 4,000mAh battery in the base model to a 5,000mAh battery in the Ultra. The series will be available in black, grey, violet, and yellow.
The Galaxy S24 offers 8GB of RAM with options for 128GB and 256GB storage, while the S24+ and Ultra models will have 12GB of RAM and offer storage of 256GB and 512GB.
The camera systems in these models are particularly notable, with the S24 and S24+ likely to feature 50-megapixel triple rear cameras, and the S24 Ultra expected to boast a 200-megapixel quad rear camera system with 10x telephoto lens capabilities.
The Ultra model stands out with its AI-powered feature for video editing, enhancing low-light performance, reducing graininess, and improving overall video stability and exposure.
This makes the Galaxy S24 Ultra a compelling option for both photography enthusiasts and professionals.
