The Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro and Asus ROG Phone 8 are the latest additions to the gaming smartphone market, announced at CES 2024. Featuring the advanced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and a 50MP triple camera setup, these models are designed to deliver exceptional performance for gaming enthusiasts.
The Asus ROG Phone 8 price starts at $1,099 for the 16GB + 256GB model. In contrast, the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro price begins at $1,199 for the 16GB + 512GB model, scaling up to $1,499 for the 24GB + 1TB model.
Initially, the Asus ROG Phone 8 is available in Phantom Black and Rebel Grey, while the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro is offered in Phantom Black. Information about the Asus ROG Phone 8 availability and Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro availability in other markets is yet to be announced.
Operating on Android 14-based ROG UI, both the Asus ROG Phone 8 and Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro sport a 6.78-inch Samsung AMOLED LTPO display with a 165Hz refresh rate and HDR10 support, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The devices are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
The Pro variant offers up to 24GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS4.0 storage, while the standard Asus ROG Phone 8 comes with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of storage.
Both models feature a robust camera system, including a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 32-megapixel telephoto sensor with optical image stabilization and 3x optical zoom, complemented by a 12-megapixel front camera.
