Huawei has revealed its latest foldable smartphone, the Mate X5. This China-exclusive foldable smartphone boasts impressive specifications and features.
Starting with the front, the Huawei Mate X5 showcases a 6.4-inch OLED LTPO external display.
This screen delivers a resolution of 2504 x 1080 pixels. The display also supports an impressive touch sampling rate of up to 300Hz and features Kunlun glass for added durability.
Unfolding the device reveals a spacious 7.85-inch foldable OLED LTPO display. With a resolution of 2496 x 2224 pixels and an 8:7.1 aspect ratio, this expansive screen provides ample space for productivity and entertainment.
Much like its external counterpart, it boasts a high touch sampling rate of up to 240Hz. Both displays support a dynamic 1Hz-120Hz refresh rate, ensuring seamless transitions and energy efficiency.
Additionally, they offer 10-bit colors, P3 color gamut, and 1440Hz high-frequency dimming for stunning visuals. The device also incorporates a side-facing fingerprint scanner for enhanced security.
While specifics about the chipset remain undisclosed, it's widely speculated that the Huawei Mate X5 is equipped with the Kirin 9000s, also found in the Mate 60 series.
The device comes with a generous 16GB of RAM paired with 512GB of storage. The support for 5G connectivity remains unconfirmed.
The Mate X5 features an 8-megapixel front camera for high-quality selfies.
On the rear, it boasts an impressive camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel main camera, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) support.

In its folded state, the Mate X5 measures 156.9 x 72.4 x 11.08 mm and expands to 156.9 x 141.5 x 5.3mm when unfolded, weighing approximately 245 grams.
The Huawei Mate X5 comes in two RAM and storage configurations: 12GB RAM + 512GB storage and 16GB RAM + 512GB storage.
Huawei is also offering the Mate X5 Collector's Edition with two storage options: 16GB RAM + 512GB storage or 16GB RAM + 1TB storage.
