As the tech world eagerly awaits the iPhone 16 series launch in September, new leaks continue to reveal the upgrades. Check out the latest information on the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max including details on the thinnest bezels, design enhancements, camera improvements, and other specifications.
According to tech leaker Ice Universe, the iPhone 16 Pro models will feature the thinnest bezels ever seen on a smartphone. This reduction surpasses the current iPhone 15 Pro and even competitors like Samsung. The iPhone 16 Pro is expected to increase in size from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will expand from 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches, making it the largest iPhone to date.
The iPhone 16 Pro series will achieve these thinnest bezels through Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology. This technology allows a more efficient layout of under-display circuitry, enabling slimmer bezels. Although this technique has caused some manufacturing challenges, Apple is determined to set a new standard for bezel size.
The iPhone 16 Pro models will also introduce a no-button interface with capacitive touch and haptic feedback. Additionally, a dedicated video capture button and the Action button are expected to become standard across the series. The Dynamic Island display cutout design will remain unchanged, but future models may see Face ID integrated under the display.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max will reportedly feature the new Sony IMX903 sensor, boasting a 48-megapixel resolution for unprecedented image clarity. The iPhone 16 Pro will use the Sony IMX803 sensor, also at 48 megapixels. Both models will have a 48-megapixel Ultra Wide camera, enhancing low-light performance and image quality through pixel binning technology.
In terms of zoom capabilities, the iPhone 16 Pro will match the Pro Max's 5x optical zoom, aligning the Pro model's zoom features with the Pro Max. This marks a departure from past models where the Pro variant had lesser zoom functionality.
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will likely use a version of the A17 Pro chip from the iPhone 15 Pro models. The iPhone 16 Pro models are expected to feature the new A18 Pro chipset, promising faster and more efficient performance. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are also expected to have 8GB of RAM and a new thermal design to reduce overheating.
The iPhone 16 Pro models might include a metal battery casing to improve heat dissipation. These models will benefit from iOS 18, which may include AI-powered features like an improved Siri. Design and spec changes will be minor, but the new models will offer significant performance improvements.
Leaks suggest that the base model iPhone 16 might start at around Rs 79,990, while the larger iPhone 16 Plus could start at Rs 87,990. The premium iPhone 16 Pro Max might have a starting price of about Rs 1,69,900. While these prices are based on leaks, it is advisable to wait for official confirmation from Apple.
