Online shopping offers many conveniences, but occasionally, customers face delivery errors. One such incident involving Flipkart stands out, illustrating the possible challenges online shoppers might face.
Aryan looked forward to purchasing a Sony TV during Flipkart's Big Billion Days sale. He wanted a great viewing experience for the ICC Men's ODI World Cup. However, to his surprise, he received a Thomson TV, which was not the high-end Sony TV he paid ₹ 1 lakh for.
During the Sony TV installation, the mistake became evident. "The technician unboxed the TV, and we found a Thomson TV inside a Sony box, missing accessories like the stand and remote," Aryan shared.
Despite his immediate contact with Flipkart customer care, the issue remained unresolved. Aryan explained, "I was instructed by Flipkart customer care to upload photos of the TV, which I did multiple times. Still, there was no resolution."
Flipkart didn’t promptly process Aryan's return request. He mentioned, "First, they said they’d resolve it by 24th October. But on 20th October, they claimed it was resolved, only to push the resolution date to 1st November." Aryan's eagerness to get a quality TV for the World Cup was met with disappointment and stress due to Flipkart's customer service.
Reacting to the online buzz, Flipkart responded, "We deeply apologize for the inconvenience. We're working to address this issue."
It's worth noting that the delivery service, Delhivery, doesn't allow product checks at the time of delivery.
This incident triggered varied online reactions. Some expressed their reluctance to buy expensive items from Flipkart, while others emphasized the need for stricter online shopping regulations.
