Motorola is gearing up for the launch of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro on April 3.
As the launch date approaches, the results of a performance test of the Edge 50 Pro has been spotted on benchmarking platform Geekbench. It reveals the specifications of the processor and its single core and multi-core scores.
Here are the latest details now available on the Motorola Edge 50 Pro.
As per a report by tech publication MySmartPrice, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro was put through its paces on Geekbench 6, revealing a single-core score of 1,097 and a multi-core score of 3,114. These results were achieved by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset powering the device.
This information clarifies that, unlike its promotion in China with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, the Edge 50 Pro opts for the 7 Gen 3 variant.
Globally, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro is expected to wear different monikers.
In the US, it might be known as the Motorola Edge+ (2024), while in China, it could be marketed as the Moto X50 Ultra, each possibly with slight variations in specifications.
This will explain the teasing of the Edge 50 Pro with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset in China.
The Geekbench listing for the Motorola Edge 50 Pro with Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, showcases the device with 12GB of RAM.
According to the data on the platform, the Edge 50 Pro runs on Android 14, aligning with expectations for a high-end smartphone in 2024.
Beyond this, Motorola has officially teased several key features of the Edge 50 Pro.
It has a 6.7-inch "1.5K" 144 Hz pOLED display with 2,000-nit peak brightness, and is HDR10+ certified. It covers 100% of the DCI-P3 Colour Gamut and offers SGS-certified blue light protection.
Additionally, the display is “Pantone Validated”, and promises a realistic and accurate color experience, even for skin tones.
For photography, a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor is confirmed. The device also touts Generative AI theming capabilities for personalized wallpapers.
Powering the Edge 50 Pro is supported by a 4,500mAh battery compatible with 125W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.
Other confirmed details include the phone's availability in three colours: black, purple, and a cream and grey patterned option.
