Nothing, the tech company founded by former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, may be getting ready to launch a smartphone. A series of tweets by Carl Pei, which saw replies by the official Twitter accounts for Android and Snapdragon, teased the possible launch of an upcoming Nothing phone.
Carl Pei tweeted “Back on Android” on February 16, followed by “Android 12 is nice!”. He also tagged Hiroshi Lockheimer, the Senior Vice President of Android, in his tweet. The official Twitter account for Android responded with a cryptic “We’ve got a lot to catch up on Carl,” while the official account for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipsets also joined in with a meme.
In a separate tweet, Carl Pei shared some artwork by a Nothing fan who had drawn a sketch for a possible Nothing phone design.
Neither Nothing nor Cal Pei have officially mentioned anything about launching a smartphone, but earlier reports have indicated that the company is working on launching the device. The phone may even launch in 2022.
