During the annual photography forum keynote in France, OnePlus, Oppo and Hasselblad made headlines by introducing their groundbreaking collaborative project, the Hasselblad HyperTone camera system.
The initiative is geared towards leading the way in computational photography by leveraging aesthetic traction technology and effects through the integration of hardware and software enhancements.
The HyperTone Image Engine, a core feature of the system, is designed to address common mobile photography challenges, including distortion.
Through the use of computational photography, this cutting-edge technology incorporates AI denoising in the RAW domain and precise pixel brightness correction using photon matrix technology.
This results in a remarkable 30% increase in image clarity and a substantial 60% reduction in image noise, offering users unparalleled image quality.
The HyperTone camera system consists of three key components: the main camera system, the image engine, and the ProXDR display.
The main camera system promises increased zoom magnification and multiple viewing angles to unleash creative freedom.
The image engine employs advanced calculations to boost image clarity and reduce noise, while the ProXDR display reaches a brightness of 12 million pixels and offers up to eight times greater dynamic range for a more realistic output.
During the event, Oppo showcased improved colour sampling capabilities, enabling the precise restoration of skin colour characteristics and addressing issues like blooming with onboard AI.
The enhancements also bring a more distinct sense of depth to portrait shots. This HyperTone camera system will make its debut on the Find X7 series of flagship phones, slated for release in the first quarter of 2024.
The series is expected to feature the industry’s most powerful zoom lens in its telephoto module, catering to greater versatility in low-light conditions.
The HyperTone camera system will not be limited to the Find X7 series, as it is expected to also feature on the OnePlus 12 and Oppo Reno 11 series of mobile phones.
