OnePlus has revealed a new AI-powered feature called AI Eraser, allowing users to easily remove unwanted objects from photos directly within the phone's gallery.

This marks the company's first step into generative AI technology.

AI Eraser leverages advanced algorithms to analyse user-selected areas and automatically generate a replacement background.

This background seamlessly blends into the surrounding environment, resulting in a natural-looking edit. Whether it's a photobomber, a stray piece of trash, or an imperfection, AI Eraser empowers users to create flawless photos with just a few taps.

As per OnePlus, AI Eraser aligns with the brand's user-centric design philosophy, making photo editing accessible to everyone.

By eliminating the need for complex manual editing or dedicated software, users of all skill levels can achieve professional-looking results.

New Technology for Accurate Results

The development of AI Eraser involved significant investment in research and development, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of AI-generated edits.

The underlying large language model (LLM) is trained on a vast dataset, allowing it to understand complex scenes and replace unwanted objects with natural-looking elements.

Availability

The AI Eraser feature will be rolled out gradually starting in April to select OnePlus devices, including the OnePlus 12 series, OnePlus 11, OnePlus Open, and OnePlus Nord CE 4.

OnePlus promises to announce further device compatibility and update details in the future.

AI Eraser is just the beginning. OnePlus plans to continue investing heavily in AI-powered features, aiming to create a more convenient future for all users.
