OpenAI has expanded the capabilities of its popular AI image generator, DALL-E. The latest updates, integrated specifically within the ChatGPT interface, focus on ease of use and creative inspiration for all users.
Two key features were announced: the ability to directly edit DALL-E generated images and a selection of style prompts. These additions streamline the image creation process, especially for those without graphic design experience.
The DALL-E in-line editing feature is now available on ChatGPT's web, Android, and iOS versions. Paid subscribers can generate an image, and if desired, select specific areas for modification using the new edit icon.
A new text prompt describing the intended changes will trigger the AI to regenerate the image accordingly. This functionality mirrors a recent feature introduced in Microsoft's Copilot Designer.
To spark creativity, OpenAI now displays style prompts directly in ChatGPT. Options like "Woodcut," "Close-up," and "Artificial lighting" are presented with visual examples. Users can select a style, and then provide a simple prompt to generate an image that aligns with the chosen aesthetic.
Using DALL-E's native platform could be complex, especially for those without a design background. Integrating DALL-E into ChatGPT simplified the process, and the new image editing tools further enhanced its user-friendliness.
These updates, along with making ChatGPT accessible to all, underscore OpenAI's commitment to making its AI tools approachable for a wider audience. Open AI announced these features via a post on X (formerly known as Twitter).
