The Poco M6 Plus has just hit the Indian market, generating significant buzz. Priced competitively starting at Rs 13,999, this budget smartphone promises impressive features. Let's dive into the Poco M6 Plus unboxing and initial impressions.

Poco M6 Plus 5G: Unboxing

The Poco M6 Plus comes in the standard yellow-colored box, signature to Poco. Inside, you'll find the handset, a 33W fast charger, a USB Type-C cable, a SIM ejector tool, a protective case, and a quick start guide. The inclusion of a protective case is a nice touch, providing immediate protection for the device. The packaging is straightforward, ensuring that users have everything they need to get started right away.

Poco M6 Plus 5G: Design

The Poco M6 Plus that I checked out came in Ice Silver color, but you can also get it in Misty Lavender and Graphite Black. It has a sleek and modern design. The phone weighs well and feels comfortable in hand. The plastic frame, however, feels a bit cheap, but the Corning Gorilla Glass protection along with the IP53 rating ensures durability.

Poco M6 Plus 5G: Display

The Poco M6 Plus features a 6.79-inch FHD+ LCD display. It offers a resolution of 2460 x 1080 pixels. The 120Hz AdaptiveSync and 240Hz touch sampling rate definitely enhance the visual experience. The display reaches up to 550 nits peak brightness, providing bright and crisp visuals indoors. It also has a wet finger detection feature, so you won’t face issues with water droplets on the screen.

Poco M6 Plus 5G: Camera

The Poco M6 Plus boasts a dual-camera setup. The primary camera is a 108MP sensor with an f/1.75 aperture. It offers 3X in-sensor zoom and features like Smart Night Mode and HDR. The secondary camera is a 2MP macro lens. Initial shots are okay, but nothing special. The front camera is a 13MP shooter, decent for selfies to post on social media. Both cameras support 1080p video recording at 30 fps.

Poco M6 Plus 5G: Performance

Powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen2 AE processor, the Poco M6 Plus is built for efficiency. It features an octa-core CPU with primary clock speeds of 2.3 GHz and 1.95 GHz. The device comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, expandable up to 1TB via a hybrid slot. This setup ensures smooth multitasking and decent performance for casual gaming.

Poco M6 Plus 5G: Battery

The Poco M6 Plus packs a 5030mAh battery. It supports 33W fast charging, included in the box. The battery lasts about a day with regular use. Charging from 0 to 100% takes approximately 75 minutes. This makes it reliable for users who are always on the go.

Poco M6 Plus 5G: Software

The Poco M6 Plus runs on the Android 14-based Xiaomi Hyper OS. The UI is quite user-friendly and comes with various customization options and features. However, we did also notice quite a bit of bloatware.

Poco X1 Buds 5G: Key Features

Along with the Poco M6 Plus, Poco has also launched the Poco Buds X1 at a starting price of Rs 1,699. They feature a 12.4mm driver, Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, and Google Fast Pair. They offer up to 40dB noise reduction, with further customization options available in the Xiaomi Earbuds App. Additionally, you can pair two of these buds for shared audio with phones like Poco F5 and Poco M6 Pro.

Poco M6 Plus 5G: Price and Verdict

The Poco M6 Plus is available at a starting price of Rs 13,499, with the top variant priced at Rs 14,499. With discounts and offers, the price can go as low as Rs 11,999 for the base variant. This makes it a compelling option in the budget smartphone segment. Its display seems impressive with a decent camera setup for the price.

Both the Poco M6 Plus and the Poco Buds X1 will go on sale in India on 5th August. Stay tuned for the full review!
