According to a new report, it has been confirmed by a top Samsung executive that the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S23 FE will be hitting the market soon.
Justin Hume, Samsung South Africa Vice-President of Mobile, revealed that there is currently "an FE-sized gap between the Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy S23," but assured users that an announcement to bridge this gap will be made "imminently".
The Galaxy S23 FE, part of Samsung's popular Fan Edition series, is expected to incorporate the most sought-after features from the Galaxy S23 lineup, including the base model, the Galaxy S23, as well as the Galaxy S23+ and the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Notably, the upcoming smartphone has been making waves with multiple appearances on Geekbench, a popular benchmarking platform. According to the listings, the Galaxy S23 FE is likely to be powered by Samsung's in-house Exynos 2200 SoC chipset.
However, it has also been suggested that in North American markets such as the US and Canada, the device may feature either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.
This suggests that Samsung might cater to different regional preferences by offering two chip variants.
Reports indicate that the Galaxy S23 FE will come equipped with up to 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 inbuilt storage.
The Exynos SoC is expected to be paired with an Xclipse 920 AMD GPU, promising users a seamless and powerful experience. The device is slated to run on Android 13-based One UI, the latest offering from Samsung's custom Android skin.
Design-wise, the Galaxy S23 FE is anticipated to flaunt a 6.4-inch flat display with a centre-aligned hole-punch slot housing a 12-megapixel front camera sensor.
Photography enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the device is rumoured to sport a triple rear camera setup, consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens. This setup is sure to capture stunning images from various perspectives.
To keep users powered throughout the day, the Galaxy S23 FE is said to come with a robust 4,500mAh battery, ensuring that users can go about their activities without worrying about running out of charge.
