The flagship Samsung Galaxy S24 series is expected to make its grand appearance at the Galaxy Unpacked event early next year.
While rumours have been circulating about the Galaxy S24 Ultra, details about the standard Galaxy S24 variant have been scarce.
However, Smartprix and OnLeaks have now provided a first look at the base Galaxy S24.
According to renders, Samsung has gone all out in revamping the design of the Galaxy S24. The front display of the phone remains similar to its predecessor, featuring a 6.17-inch flat panel.
However, there are noticeable alterations in the side frames, resulting in a subtly different in-hand experience. The Galaxy S24 adopts a flat frame design, departing from the rounded edges seen in previous models.
This change may offer a more squared-off in-hand feel, eliciting mixed opinions among users.
One of the most significant design changes is the inclusion of an Ultra-Wideband (UWB) Antenna on the side of the Galaxy S24.
This marks the first time Samsung has dedicated valuable real estate to UWB technology within their Galaxy phone lineup.
The bezels surrounding the screen have also been noticeably reduced, further enhancing the device's sleek appearance.
From the video, it appears that the Galaxy S24 will also offer a light blue colour option, adding to the aesthetic appeal.
In terms of dimensions, the Galaxy S24 is expected to be slightly taller and less wide than its predecessor, measuring approximately 147 x 70.5 x 7.6 mm.
The rear panel of the Galaxy S24 maintains continuity with the Galaxy S23, featuring three cameras individually protruding from the frame, accompanied by an LED flash. The renders suggest that the rear panel of the Galaxy S24 will sport a soft matte finish.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 is set to impress with its display. It is expected to feature a 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED panel with a high refresh rate of up to 120Hz, HDR10+ support, and Gorilla Glass protection.
Under the hood, the Galaxy S24 is rumoured to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
Although specific details remain confidential, it's safe to assume that the phone will also feature a versatile triple rear camera setup, taking advantage of Samsung's computational enhancements.
Additionally, with minimal changes in dimensions and thickness, the battery size of the Galaxy S24 is expected to fall within the range of 3,900mAh to 4,000mAh, similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy S23.
The phone is likely to run on OneUI 6, based on the latest Android 14 operating system.
It is also rumoured to have a durable titanium frame and IP68 water and dust resistance, ensuring its ability to withstand various environmental conditions.
