Ever wanted to retrieve the deleted messages or conversations from your iPhone but could not? Well, here's a quick hack to retrieve the messages, but only if your iPhone is updated to iOS16.

According to Apple, "In iOS 16, iPadOS 16.1, or later, conversations and messages you deleted can be recovered in the Messages app."

How to recover deleted messages on iPhone

Step 1: Tap Edit on the conversations page, in Messages

Step 2: In case you had turned Message Filtering on, tap Filters on the conversations page

Step 3: Now, tap Show Recently Deleted

Step 4: Now, choose the conversations with the messages you want to retrieve

Step 5: Finally, tap Recover message or Recover [Number] Messages.

It is to be noted, that an iPhone user can only restore messages or conversations that were deleted within the last 30 to 40 days.

Also, the user won't be able to recover messages if they were deleted before updating to iOS16.
