Xiaomi has announced the flagship Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X smartphones at its launch event, where it also unveiled the Xiaomi 12 Pro. The Xiaomi 12 is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, while the Xiaomi 12X is powered by the Snapdragon 870. Both phones will launch with MIUI 13, the latest version of Xiaomi’s Android-based OS. MIUI will also be taking over as Xiaomi’s custom skin for smartwatches, smart home devices, and TVs over the coming year.
In China, the Xiaomi 12 starts at around ₹43,400 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, and goes up to around ₹51,600 for the 12GB + 256GB model. The Xiaomi 12X has been priced starting around ₹37,500 for the for the 8GB + 128GB model, while the top end 12GB + 256GB variant costs around ₹44,600.
The Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X, along with the Xiaomi 12 Pro, will be available in China starting December 31. The company has not announced any plans for pricing or availability in any other market yet, including India.

The Xiaomi 12 is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset from Qualcomm, along with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. It features a 6.28-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection, a 120Hz refresh rate, and Dolby Vision support. The screen has a peak brightness of 1100 nits.
For optics, the Xiaomi 12 features a triple rear camera setup, with a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor for the main camera, along with a 13MP ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP macro camera. Xiaomi says that the rear camera setup features CyberFocus technology for quick auto-focus locking. On the front is a 32MP selfie camera.
Keeping the lights on is a 4,500mAh battery with 67W wired and 50W wireless fast charging support, along with 10W reverse wireless charging support.
The Xiaomi 12X carries much of the same specs as the Xiaomi 12, including the 6.28-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, the 4,500mAh battery, and an identical 50MP triple rear camera setup.
The difference lies under the hood: the smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset, paired with up to 12GB RAM, and up to 256GB storage.
