Speaking from New Delhi's Red Fort on India's 77th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that India is preparing to transition into the 6G era. The Prime Minister emphasized that India is swiftly moving from 5G to 6G technology and has already formed a 6G task force.
6G, as the name suggests, represents the future of internet technology. It is poised to be 100 times faster than the current 5G network, heralding a new era of connectivity.
In his address, PM Modi shared captivating visions for the potential of 6G, suggesting possibilities such as remote control of factories, autonomous driving, car-to-car communication, and emotionally responsive wearable technology.
PM Modi acknowledged India’s achievement in 5G rollout, highlighting Reliance Jio’s recent announcement of successfully launching 5G services in all 22 of India's regions well ahead of schedule.
6G is set to offer more than just speed; it will introduce transformative innovations such as holograms and "digital twins" – virtual replicas of physical objects. These advances will make virtual reality experiences more lifelike than ever before.
6G’s Ground and Air Functionality Unlike 5G, 6G is designed to operate both terrestrially and aerially. This implies that future devices, such as phones or tablets, could connect through multiple technologies, regardless of the user’s location. This network will enable seamless connectivity for an extensive array of devices and tools.
