A new Microsoft report suggests that Russian hackers are preparing a renewed wave of cyberattacks on Ukraine.
The tech giant's cyber security research and analysis team has discovered that a sophisticated Russian hacking team, known as Sandworm, is testing ransomware-like features that could be used to attack organisations outside of Ukraine that play important roles in Ukraine's supply lines.
This report comes as Russia has begun deploying additional troops to the eastern Ukraine battlefield
Microsoft further said it had discovered at least nine different wipers and two types of ransomware variants used against more than 100 Ukrainian organisations.
