Uber reportedly raised prices for users with low phone battery levels, according to a Belgian newspaper investigation. Some customers claimed to have been charged different prices for the same journey. However, Uber denies that battery levels are taken into account and says its pricing is determined by demand and driver supply. The ride-hailing app was previously accused of exploiting users with low battery levels in a 2016 interview with its former head of economic research, who denied the claims.
