Researchers from the University of Tokyo have developed a skin tissue for robots that looks and moves like real human skin.
Researchers claim that this skin can be used to cover materials used to make a robot, giving it a human-like look.
To create the skin for the robot, the scientists immersed a robotic finger in a cylinder filled with collagen and fibroblasts solution – the solution contains the two key components that make up the human body's biggest organ, the skin.

The use of live cells also provided the robot's skin with biological characteristics such as water repellency and self-repair.
This fabricated skin is 1.5mm thick and made up of only the top layers of human skin - the epidermis and dermis.
However, if you fear that this has the potential to turn into a Terminator-style apocalypse, then fret not. It does not yet appear to be ideal human skin.
