A passenger's smartphone caught fire onboard an IndiGo flight, according to a statement by the DGCA. The incident occurred on a flight from Dibrugarh in Assam to Delhi on April 14. A cabin crew member noticed sparks emitting from a passenger's phone, and doused the fire using an extinguisher. A statement from IndiGo says that no harm was caused to any passenger or property onboard.

The DGCA, India's aviation regulator, said that the flight landed safely at Delhi airport at 12.45PM on Thursday, April 14. The model and make of the smartphone that caught fire is not yet known. The reason for the smartphone catching fire has also not yet been confirmed.
