Qualcomm has launched its new 4nm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset, promising a significant performance and power efficiency improvement compared to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.
There has been no Snapdragon 7+ Gen 1 or 7 Gen 2, so this naming scheme might seem a bit odd.
Anyway, the 1+3+4 CPU package here delivers over 50 percent jump in performance, while an unnamed Adreno GPU boasts a 2x performance increase.
Devices powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 are expected to hit the market this month with features including Auto Variable Rate Shading, Volumetric Rendering, improved ISP for low-light photography, and 4G/5G Dual-Sim Dual Active (DSDA) feature.
The chipset also offers 2x improved AI performance and 40 percent battery savings per watt.
