Spotify has launched a new Supergrouper in-app feature that lets users create a group of five artists who might not usually play or record together.
Based on your artist selections, Spotify will generate a custom playlist with the chosen artists.
Users will also get a personalised card that they can use to share their Supergroup on social media sites.
Notably, despite Spotify's claim that the feature will allow you to envision your favourite musicians collaborating, the new in-app experience will not really combine content from multiple artists.

The new feature is consistent with Spotify's emphasis on personalisation options, which gives the company an advantage over its streaming competitors. Customized playlists, like as Spotify's main Discover Weekly playlist, have assisted the company in attracting and retaining subscribers.
The new Supergrouper tool is a new approach for Spotify to produce tailored playlists for its customers, while also encouraging people to share their thoughts on a dream band via its unique cards on social media.
Supergrouper is now rolling out to users but is only available in the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines for now.
