According to a new report, Twitter's updated Blue subscription might not be available as an in-app purchase on iOS when it comes out again, as Elon Musk doesn't want to pay Apple a 30 percent royalty.
Elon Musk has been tweeting about how unhappy he is with Apple, and it looks like he wants to avoid having to pay the App Store fee.
Musk had said that the new Blue service, which lets people buy a blue verification checkmark, would relaunch on Tuesday, but now it has been delayed further. Twitter Blue signups had been previously halted due to a flood of fake accounts.
Musk also announced last week that the social network will release a new multicoloured verification system in the near future.
Under this plan, companies will get a gold checkmark, government officials will get a grey checkmark, which is probably the same as the "official" checkmark it is testing with high-profile accounts right now, and people will get a blue checkmark.
