WhatsApp may soon let users save messages that would normally disappear after a certain amount of time.
The messaging platform is said to be working on a feature called "kept messages" which will allow users to keep messages even after the expiration date. This feature has been spotted by WABetaInfo.
The messages will be marked with a special icon to show that they have been saved and can be deleted at any time. The availability of this feature is not yet known as it is still in development.
The disappearing messages feature, which launched in 2021, is inspired by apps like Snapchat. It allows users to communicate in a more private manner. Unlike Snapchat, however, WhatsApp messages are secured by end-to-end encryption.
