According to TechCrunch, YouTube Music is providing a customised radio experience that allows users to create their own stations. Formerly, users had to start their music listening experience by selecting from existing playlists, radios, or albums, but now they can select up to 30 musicians to create their own unique radio station. Users can also vary the frequency of the selected artists and use filters to change the tone of the station. The experience also has the ability to incorporate content from a broader group of similar artists or to apply particular filters such as "new discoveries" or "cool music" to narrow results. Unlike famous music streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music, the revamped radio component on YouTube Music gives customers greater freedom and control over their music listening experience. The feature is available on iOS and Android for both free and paid users in all countries where YouTube Music is available.
