Days before the release of much-awaited web series 'The Family Man 2', the Tamil Nadu government has written a letter to Information and Broadcast Minister Prakash Javadekar saying that the Amazon Prime Video series must be halted.

They said that the Manoj Bajpayee-starrer should be banned not just in the state, but across the country as it has hurt the sentiments of Tamil people and Tamil culture and is offensive against the Tamil community.

The government has also suggested that casting Samantha Akkineni, who is a 'Tamil-speaking actress', as a terrorist is another folly committed by the makers intentionally.

However, the director of the series Raj and DK, have responded to the calls for banning the series and said that assumptions have been made just based on a few shots in the trailer.

Requesting people to wait for the show, they said utmost pains have been taken to present ‘a sensitive, balanced, and riveting story’.

'The Family Man 2' is scheduled to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 4.
