Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who is a part of The Matrix Resurrections, has shared the first trailer of the highly-anticipated film on her Instagram account. The actress also penned a long note saying she is ‘honoured and thrilled to be a part of the legacy’

Directed by Lana Wachowski, the film sees Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss return as Neo and Trinity in the fourth instalment on the Matrix series, which introduced us to a world of parallel realities in 1999

The fourth film in the franchise will see a much older Neo trying to find the truth about The Matrix. In the trailer, Neo played by Reeves can be seen talking to a therapist about seeing things that have made him doubt reality. He is then seen getting rid of his blue pills and take a red pill, which allows him to be aware of the Matrix’s existence.

In a reference to film's theme about alternate realities, Priyanka Chopra can be seen reading the book Alice In Wonderland: Through The Looking Glass.

The Matrix Resurrections will release in cinemas on December 22, as well as on HBO Max, where it will be available to stream for a month

The Matrix Trilogy, directed by Lana and Lilly Wachowski, consisted of The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions
