Pune Police brought back Manoj Bajpayee’s cult character of Sardar Khan from Gangs of Wasseypur to spread awareness about cyber fraud.

In a tweet, the Pune police handle shared a meme warning people against false claims while buying stuff online from upcycling portals like OLX or Quikr.

The meme caught actor Manoj Bajpayee’s attention and he retweeted it, saying, it was amazing.

In a prompt response, the Pune Police Twitter came back with an even wittier response.

Referring to Bajpayee’s current popular show, they wrote, Bajpayee may be a ‘Family Man’ now but they still need to count on ‘Sardar Khan’ to drive their point home.

Bajpayee played the iconic role of Sardar Khan in Anurag Kashyap’s 2012 action crime film Gangs of Wasseypur. The film has a cult following, winning several awards in India and abroad.

Bajpayee is currently basking in the success of The Family Man season 2, where he plays Shrikant Tiwari, a middle-class man secretly working as an intelligence officer for the Threat Analysis and Surveillance Cell (TASC), a fictitious branch of the National Investigation Agency.
