A recasting of the Modi cabinet looks imminent. The Mint has reported that a number of new faces are likely to be inducted in the Union Cabinet very soon.
Names of the probables who are likely to find place in the new Cabinet include Jyotiraditya Scindia, former Bihar Dy CM Sushil Modi and former Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal.
Apart from these, Nitish Kumar’s JDU may also its leaders joining the Cabinet. The names of its senior leaders RCP Singh and Rajiv Ranjan Singh are doing the rounds.
The Mint has reported that the Prime Minister would also want to induct a couple of names from the poll-bound states of Uttar Pradesh as well as Punjab after Harsimrat Badal of the Shiromani Akali Dal had quit as minister.
The four top ministers -- home, defence, finance and external affairs -- are unlikely to see any change. PM Modi recently met ministers to review their performances setting the speculation of a reshuffle.
