Thomas and Uber Cup cancelled due to Covid-19

Top Indian shuttlers may have shown their willingness in playing the Thomas and Uber Cup finals but the Badminton World Federation has decided to postpone the tournament until 2021. The decision was made after several teams, including powerhouses South Korea, Thailand and Indonesia, withdrew from the tournament due to the coronavirus pandemic. The prestigious team tournament was scheduled to be held in Aarhus, Denmark from October 3 to 12 and India had even announced a 20-member contingent with PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth as possible leaders of the teams. However, the BWF has decided to go ahead with the Denmark Open due be held from October 13 to 18. But Denmark Masters, scheduled from October 20 has been cancelled.
