Tens of thousands of people took to the streets in central Minsk on Sunday to protest against the regime of President Alexander Lukashenko.
The march has become a weekly occurrence on Sunday afternoons, following the disputed electoral victory of Lukashenko on Aug. 9, with the largest rallies in Minsk attracting up to 200,000 people.
Riot police and military vehicles were earlier deployed in the capital in preparation for the protest, and several people were reportedly detained as it started.
