TMC turncoats line up for 'gharwapsi', BJP rattled

After Mamata Banerjee led TMC’s sweeping victory in 2021 West Bengal assembly polls,  several turncoats now want to return to the party. The Trinamool claims 35 BJP MLAs are eager to return and are in touch with the leadership.

The recently held elections saw a fierce battle between the TMC and BJP and the latter had managed to get several leader to switch sides just before the polls. However tides have now changed. Several TMC turncoats are lining up for a 'gharwapsi', rattling the BJP.

The BJP national vice-president Mukul Roy, once a close aide of Mamata Banerjee, may return to the TMC. The buzz has grown louder after he skipped a party meet in Kolkata called by state chief Dilip Ghosh and since Abhishek Banerjee visited his wife in the hospital.

Dipendu Biswas, Sonali Guha, Sarla Murmu,  Amol Acharya , Prabir Ghosal are among the others have expressed their "unhappiness" with the BJP.

The BJP has launched efforts to salvage its Bengal unit. Amid the "reverse migration", the BJP's Suvendu Adhikari has met with Home Minister Amit Shah and party president JP Nadda in Delhi.
