TMC writes to President, seeks Governor's removal

Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress has upped the ante against governor Jagdeep Dhankar, who has been at loggerheads with the Mamata Banerjee govt for long. The Trinamool has written a letter to President Ram Nath Kovind seeking removal of the governor. Accusing the governor of acting on behalf of the BJP while holding a constitutional office, the Trinamool has alleged that Dhankar has failed to protect and preserve the Constitution. The TMC has also pointed out that some of the the governor's recent remark could lead to law and order problems in the state.
