After his dream of winning the Golden Slam shattered, World No. 1 Novak Djokovic's campaign at Tokyo 2020 also ended empty-handed on Saturday. The Serbian Superstar lost to Pablo Carreno Busta 6-4, 6-7, 6-3 as the Spaniard won the Olympic bronze medal. The 6th seed who made his Olympic debut this week had earlier defeated World No. 2 Daniil Medvedev.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion who was eying his first-ever Olympic gold medal came to Tokyo on the back of 3 victories. He won the Australian Open, French Open, and Wimbledon this year. While he could have moved a step closed to the Golden Slam, Djokovic lost to Germany's Alexander Zverev 6-7, 6-2, 6-4, 7-6 in the semi-finals on Friday.
