Tokyo Paralympics: Noida DM Suhas Yathiraj wins silver in badminton

Noida district magistrate Suhas Yathiraj has become the first IAS officer to win a medal at the Paralympics after he won a silver in the badminton men's singles SL4 category in Tokyo. 

The 38-year-old, who has an impairment in one of his ankles lost 21-15 17-21 15-21 to two-time world champion Lucas Mazur in a 62-minute summit clash.

Yathiraj, currently ranked No. 3 in the SL4 category, won India its third badminton medal at the Tokyo Paralympics after Pramod Bhagat took gold and Manoj Sarkar bronze in the men's singles SL3 category on Saturday.
