The biggest brands that help K-pop band BTS make that coin!

I got dollas, I got bills, BTS have been making their coin for 8 years now and getting that bread has become easier by the day. 

But beyond their stellar music, the K-pop group have also been making money moves with major global players. The 7 member group in fact bring in so much money, they collectedly contribute over half a percent of the national GDP for South Korea.

Here are some of the biggest endorsements that BTS have been signed on to.

. Hyundai: In 2018, it was announced that BTS would be Global Brand Ambassadors of the all new Flagship SUV, the Palisade. In the last 3 years Bangtan have been a part of several campaigns for the South Korean carmaker, including ‘Positive Energy’, ‘Because of You’ and have even written and recorded a song for the company titled, ‘IONIQ: I’m On It'! 


. FILA: In 2019, FILA Korea announced BTS as the global models for the brand and together they plan to expand their ‘One World, One FILA’ message. FILA has since released many collections inspired by the K-pop group’s music, with their latest one named ‘Dynamite’ after their pop-hit from 2020. 


. Samsung: Despite a little dabble here and there previously, it was in 2020 that Samsung officially signed on the group as brand ambassadors. This includes the release of a special edition phone and wireless earphones. Recently for the release of the Samsung Z flip and fold releases Suga reimagined Samsung’s signature sound ‘Over the Horizon’. 

. Louis Vuitton: Announced in 2021; Louis Vuitton revealed their brand new House Ambassadors, BTS. They were included as models for the FW21 collection and have taken to exclusively wearing Virgil Abloh designs on the red carpet. 


. Line Friends: Probably the longest running and easily most recognisable one yet! The creators are Line Friends collaborated with the 7 members in 2017 to create a line called BT21, featuring 8 characters inspired by the members themselves and also one for ARMY. Special BT21 pop-up stores and themed cafes have opened across the world, with over 8 million BT21 products sold in 2021. 


We saved the best, or tastiest for last. Even though the partnership has now ended, it was arguably the most global venture the group ever signed on to. 


. McDonald’s: A collaboration that ran for a month in 2021, introduced 49 countries to the BTS Meal. There was a special nugget sauce ‘Sweet Chilli’ released exclusively along with special purple packaging. Saint designed crew t-shirts for the staff for that month, while Hybe released merchandise that has been designed by the members along with McDonald’s. McDonald's 2nd quarter sales increased by 40.5%! Talk about ‘I’m Lovin’ it!’
