Top Jaish militant involved in Pulwama attack gunned down in Kashmir

A top Pakistani militant involved in the 2019 Pulwama attack was gunned down in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district, a senior police official said on Saturday. Kashmir IGP Vijay Kumar said that Mohd Ismail Alvi alias Lamboo alias Adnan was related to Masood Azhar and had affiliation to Jaish-E-Mohammad. 

Mohd Ismail Alvi was involved in conspiracy and planning of the Pulwama attack and figured in chargesheet produced by NIA, the IGP said. He stayed with Pulwama suicide bomber Adil Dar till the day of the attack, IGP Kumar added.

Mohd Ismail Alvi was killed along with another militant during an encounter in Pulwama after a security forces launched a search and cordon operation following inputs about the presence of militants.
