US President Donald Trump on Wednesday pardoned 73 people, including his former aide Steve Bannon, the White House said, just hours before he was due to leave office. Bannon was accused of defrauding donors to a group that supposedly planned to build a border wall with Mexico. The rapper Lil Wayne and Republican fundraiser Elliott Broidy also received pardons, while former Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and the rapper Kodak Black had their prison terms commuted. The pardons were the third big groups of grants of executive clemency issued by Trump since his election loss in November to Joe Biden.
