Twitter 'transparency report': Over 22,500 accounts suspended

In compliance with the new IT rules, Twitter India has released its 'transparency report' of period between May 26 and June 25, 2021, on Sunday. 

The report stated that the US-based social media firm registered 38 complaints of which 20 were on defamation. It also acted against more than 22,500 accounts.

18,385 accounts promoting nudity and child sexual exploitation were suspended, the company said. The report said over 4,179 accounts promoting terrorism were also flagged.
