A UK Conservative Party lawmaker, David Amess has died after being stabbed multiple times on Friday.
The lawmaker was meeting his constituents in Southend West area in Essex when he was targeted at the Belfairs Methodist Church around midday.
Emergency services fought to save his life inside the church, but in vain.
A 25-year-old man was arrested from the spot on suspicion of murder and a knife was recovered.
The stabbing echoed a 2010 incident in which a lawmaker survived a stabbing in his constituency office and a 2016 fatal shooting of Labour party's Jo Cox just days before Brexit referendum.
