A day after India introduced certain travel guidelines for UK nationals arriving in India, the UK has now said that it is engaging with Government of India on the issue.

India brought in these guidelines in response to UK not approving Covishield as a Covid-19 vaccine and imposing travel restrictions on passengers from India even if they were fully vaccinated.

A spokesperson of British High Commission in India said that they are continuing to engage with the Indian govt on technical cooperation to expand UK's recognition of vaccine certification to people vaccinated by a relevant public health body in India.

The UK authorities had denied to recognise the Covid-19 vaccine certificates issued by the CoWin platform of the Indian government.
