While the 2nd game of the IPL gave us a thrilling super over finish but it also highlighted an umpiring blunder. India’s Nitin Menon, who became the youngest ever to be inducted in ICC’s Elite Panel of Umpires, called a ‘run short’ when Chris Jordan took a couple of runs off Rabada in the 19th over.  But TV replays clearly showed that Jordan legally completed the first run and the bat was inside the crease. If not for the blooper, Kings XI Punjab would have won the game without it going into a super over. ICC had recently decided that the TV umpires will take a call on the front-foot no ball and this blunder by Menon has ignited a twitter debate whether the same should happen in such situations as well. Punjab were robbed of a win and in such a closely-fought league, 2 points can cost them a spot in the playoffs.
