As state elections for Bihar draw closer, union minister and LJP veteran Ram Vilas Paswan has left his son Chirag completely in charge of the poll preparations. Tweeting about his ill health, Ram Vilas Paswan wrote that he is confident Chirag will take Bihar to new heights and that he will stand by every decision that his son takes.
Chirag Paswan had officially taken over as the president of the LJP, a BJP ally, last year and now with Paswan senior being hospitalised, the young politician finds himself responsible for taking several important decisions, including that of alliances, on his own.
He may soon have a big decision to make with Congress leader Digvijaya Singh inviting LJP to join the Congress, RJD Mahagathbandhan in Bihar. Chirag Paswan has been very vocal in his criticism of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who is an NDA partner.
