A BJP leader in Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia shot dead a youth while the top officials of the district were present at a meeting called for allotment of shops under government quota. The BJP leader, Dheerendra Singh, fled from the scene amid a stampede-like situation that followed the firing and the youth Jaiparakash Pal died on the spot. Soon after, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanatha ordered immediate suspension of the SDM Suresh Pal, CO Chandrakesh Singh and police personnel who were present at the spot. He also directed that strict action be initiated against the accused. A video of the incident has gone viral.
