UP implements 3-day weekend lockdown to control Covid spread

To control the spread of the Covid-19 infection, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced extending the complete weekend lockdown to include Mondays. The 'weekend closure', as the Additional Chief Secretary Naveen Sehgal called it, will begin from 8 pm on Friday to 7 am on Tuesdays until further direction. All essential services and vaccination drive will continue. Public, private offices, and public transport will operate with 50% of staff. The Yogi govt has banned political, sports, entertainment, or religious gatherings. All malls, cinema halls, restaurants, educational institutes will remain shut.
